How SplitClub works

Plain answers about paying, splitting and getting help. SplitClub's Terms of Service govern every booking; if anything here reads differently, the Terms win.

1.Paying and splitting

  • Pay it yourself or split it with friends. Everyone in a split pays their own share in SplitClub.
  • A split is booked only once every share is paid.
  • When your share is a hold on your card, it's charged only once every share is in.
  • Every split has a deadline. If it doesn't fill in time, the split is off: card holds are released and any share already charged is given back in full, service fee included.

2.Fees

  • SplitClub's service fee is 3.9% + $0.30 a payment. The checkout shows it as its own line before you pay.
  • Businesses pay no fee on SplitClub and receive their full price.

3.Requests

  • A request books nothing and holds no time until it's accepted.
  • If a request needs payment, your card may be held, not charged, while the business decides. If it's declined or not answered in time, the hold is released.

4.Who you're booking with

  • Claimed by owner means the business's owner verified their ID with Stripe.
  • The blue check means SplitClub checked the business from public sources.
  • A page nobody has claimed yet says so. SplitClub put it together from public information, so check the details with the business.

5.Shared bills

  • Everyone accepts their share of a recurring bill before anything is charged.
  • When a bill's amount changes, it's confirmed each cycle before anyone is charged, and your share is never more than the limit you agreed to without your OK.
  • Anyone can leave a bill before its next charge.

6.Festivals and event tickets

  • Festival and event pages list dates from the organizer and Ticketmaster. Tickets are sold by them, not by SplitClub, and ticket questions go to them.

7.Card payments

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details never reach SplitClub.

8.Money back

  • Money that comes back to you, from a split that didn't fill or a declined request, lands in your SplitClub balance. Use it on your next booking or cash it out.

9.Getting help
