The Library

Gilt Bar is a Hogsalt tavern on Kinzie Street in Chicago's River North, a dim, vintage room dedicated to the pleasures of drinking in restaurants and eating in bars. The menu runs from wood-fired bone marrow, slow-roasted meatballs and steak tartare to handmade pastas, the coal-fired ribeye and a double wagyu cheeseburger, with classic cocktails poured in the downstairs speakeasy, Curio. It opens in the late afternoon daily, with happy hour until 5:00 PM and half-off bottles on Wine Wednesdays.
