Bachata is programmed on request rather than sitting on the fixed calendar. Someone proposes a date, and SplitClub sources the vessel, the crew and the sound around it — the cost of the day is then split across the group that claims the places.

The sound

Guitar-led, romantic and built on a four-count with an accented hip on the fourth. Modern bachata absorbed R&B production in the 2000s and became a global partner-dance sound; the traditional style is rawer and more countrified.
